Johnny Sea is a Colorado–based author–illustrator who creates magical, character-driven picture books inspired by nature, childhood wonder, and his family’s rescue cat, Minka. His work blends expressive characters, cinematic lighting, and emotional storytelling to build worlds that feel both whimsical and deeply heartfelt.

Johnny’s stories center on courage, kindness, and the quiet magic found in everyday moments. His debut project, The Adventures of Minka‑Moon: The Lost Boy, grew from the real Minka’s fearless spirit, her curiosity about the wildlife outside her window, and her nightly fascination with the moon.

When he’s not illustrating or painting, Johnny can be found exploring the mountains near his home with his wife or sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of his creative process. He is currently developing additional picture-book projects and expanding the world of Minka Moon.
